8 Self Isolation Tips - Stay Productive During Covid-19
Anyone else out there BORED and starting to feel STIR CRAZY during self isolating at home during Covid?
Check out our productivity tips below and keep yourself loving life even during a pandemic!
1. SPRING CLEANING
Tired of binge-watching shows? Or perhaps looking for an activity that involves the whole family? It's spring... so why NOT clean, right?
SOME SPRING CLEANING SUGGESTIONS:
- Thoroughly clean your fridge and freezer
- Organize cupboards and drawers
- Clean out your closets
- Broom, mop, dust and even clean your floor boards - make your home cleaner than it's EVER BEEN.
Take inventory of all of your stuff. Keep only what you absolutely need/want and recycle the rest. Remember to take all items you don't want to your local recycling centre AFTER the pandemic is over. Never throw away what can (and should) be recycled.
Remember to clean using green/non-toxic cleaners - chemical based cleaners can do more harm than good to your family (including your pets).
2. READ A BOOK
Do you have a book (or perhaps several books) that have been on a "to read" list for a long time - perhaps longer than you can remember? What better time to gran them and finally take time outto read them on a comfy couch or even sit outside on your balcony or in nature to read and enjoy!
Don't have a physical copy of your desired book? Have to fear - ebooks have you covered. And if for some reason reading simply isn't an option... you could always listen to an audiobook version while you spring clean - lol.
3. TAKE AN ONLINE CLASS
Have you always wanted to learn a craft but simply never had the ability to?
E-learning platforms have SO MANY options available and many are FREE! Learn photography from the greats! Learn how to cook or bake from some of the top chefs in the world! Bring out that keyboard and learn a new song! Take up dance again! Online language classes anyone? THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS!
4. WORKOUT
No one needs to go to a fancy gym in this day and age! Support a local fitness business by taking online classes OR be thrifty and stick choose from some of the many FREE workout videos on youtube!
Go outside ONLY if your city allows it. And if they do + the weather is nice AND you have a bike or roller blades - use them! It can't be any simpler!
Remember to wear required masks (you can make your own at home from old apparel you no longer want or need and worst case scenario, wrap a scrarf around your mouth and nose. The biggest thing to remember is to keep a social distance from everyone around you.
5. GARDENING
It's spring time and what better way to embrace sustainable living than growing your own veggies, fruits and spices!
There is SO MUCH we can grow simply from the staples in our kitchens (dried beans, lentils and the tops of root veggies are some of the easiest)!
And if you have nothing in the house worth growing... then simply tending to weeds and tidying-up your yard is a wonderful activity!
6. CONNECT WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Video calling is the coolest! We all have friends and family who we haven't seen or spoken to in AGES!
What a great time to reach out to loved ones in any and ALL time zones to reconnect.
Remember... virtual hugs are all the norm!
7. RELAX AND PAMPER YOURSELF
Who doesn't love to pamper oneself? Especially if you're using all natural and non-toxic products... right?
Ask your signifiant other for a massage and remember to reciprocate!
Single? Give yourself a foot massage - where there is a will, there is a way!
Google DIY masks with simple ingredients that already have at home. How about a nice warm bath or a body scrub? The possibilities are endless!
8. MEDITATE, PRACTICE PATIENCE AND HAVE FAITH
This pandemic is serious and there are a lot of lives in the world that are at risk. You could think you're immunity can't be compromised but no one can know for sure. Remember that by staying in self isolation, you are not just protecting yourself but you could also be protecting everyone around you IF you're a carrier.
Stress in inevitable during this time so make time daily to meditate. Also, if you practice a certain faith, check in regularly with your creator. Regularly practicing faith and meditation truly do wonders for the soul and spirit!
